Description:

DivIHN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Business Systems Analyst with specialties within application recovery and business resumption.

  • Candidate will be responsible for interviewing business resources, understanding sets of applications, completing application recovery templates, and identifying risks and issues within existing planning.
  • Deliverables from this engagement will include more generic template application recovery forms as well as gap analysis documentation and mitigation recommendations for identified process risks.
  • A key goal of the program is to provide a fully comprehensive plan that will allow an organization to continue business application services through a crisis, disaster, or operational disruption.
  • This plan will encompass over 80 applications of mixed technologies. Key technology areas include both mainframe and client-server applications.

Key Responsibilities

Business Impact Analysis

The BA would work closely with business and technology teams to complete standard template documentation interpreting interview and system documentation to create an accurate assessment. The candidate may use tools such as organizational lists, functional design documents, and system design documents, to identify relevant parties and business impacts.

Identify Key Threats and Impacts

  • The candidate will need to analysis identify internal and external threats within the stock templates that could potentially impact the organization or recovery success.
  • Each threat would be classified as a risk event and documented in a risk registrar.
  • The BA will need to identify how unknowns, constraints, and dependencies contribute to risk, and how the risk can negatively impact the organization.
  • Key organizational concerns for risk are lost sales/revenue, increased expenses, dissatisfied customers, loss of employees, as well as reputational and physical damage to the organization.
  • In addition, the BA will need to understand the organization's risk tolerance to categorize these findings and make a recommended a course of action.

Work as a Team

This team will chiefly be responsible for working with business teams, updating and maintaining recovery template documents, recognizing gaps, and make recommendations for workable recovery plans.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in IT or business applications or related field is required. Education focused on GRC and/or business continuity is preferred.

Proven experience with 5 years in business analysis, including a solid understanding of business applications and their architecture

Strong written and oral communication skills are required for business user interviews and team interaction.

Demonstrated ability to work within a high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, creative solutions, and continuous improvement is required.

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively while maintaining a focus on achieving business objectives is required.

Experience in multiple application technologies is required.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify relationships between application processes, and recommend practical solutions is required.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Although hands-on experience is preferred but not required, the successful candidate will have an operational understanding of:

o Distributed system architectures,

o Web and host-based application architectures focused on Microsoft .NET, Java/Websphere,

o Virtualization technology such as Vmware,

o Application servers,

o Basic cybersecurity concepts,

o System interoperability and communication approaches.
