Title: EDI Implementation Specialist (SAP Focus)
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Duration: 11 Months

Job Description :

  • This is a non-exempt position.

Duties:

  • Primary liaison between the IT and business areas.
  • Provides direct support to assigned business area.
  • Works directly with clients and applies IT and applies IT and business knowledge and experience to develop and understand the business case and business requirements to solve for technology related business problems.
  • Leads department level initiatives or provides assistance to Program or Project managers on phases of a larger project.
  • May assist in business relationship management, business strategy and planning, portfolio/demand management.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques and assists in the development of standards and procedures.
  • Partners with Corporate service providers to investigate alternatives, which use existing applications.
  • May conduct training.
  • Manages initiatives according to milestones and within budget constraints.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements. Independently conceives and develops general approaches to develop business requirements and business case.
  • Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving.
  • Work is reviewed for soundness of business judgment and to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved.
  • Determines and develops approach to problem.
  • Medium/high complexity work.
  • Errors or failure to achieve expected results may result in project delays or the expenditure of more resources than was planned.
  • Works with minimal management direction.
  • Monitors and organized the efforts of and business support staff. Guides the efforts of less experienced staff.

  • May have indirect team responsibility.
  • Hands-on implementing EDI messages and interface with various systems, like SAP.
  • Experience with SAP ERP system to view and understand EDI orders with all applicable EDI messages. Example, 850, 856 etc.

Brief synopsis:

o Creating, analyzing, and implementing electronic data interchange (EDI) systems and supporting processes for X12 and EDIFACT.

o Work with the EDI provider/vendor to open and setup new EDI accounts.
o Implement and/or guide to make EDI interface changes in the SAP system and pull various inventory reports.
o Work and coordinate with various system/team (SAP, Bizlink, Tracelink, SGTIN, Tibco and warehouse management system) to drive/implement required changes.
o Supporting Inventory management system from EDI messages prospective. Like creating catalog and ASN on demand.
o Oversee existing EDI mapping configuration.

Top 5 skills/requirements:

o Good verbal and written communication skills.
o Hands-on implementing EDI messages and interface with various systems, like SAP.
o Experience with SAP ERP system to view and understand EDI orders with all applicable EDI messages. Example, 850, 856 etc.
o Strong knowledge on X12 and EDIFACT EDI standards.
o Problem solving and Troubleshooting.

Skillset that will complimented:

  • Person is well equipped with strong knowledge and experience on EDI interface implementation and knowledge on SAP ERP system.
  • Person without field experience on implementing EDI message and interface it with third-party system may cause challenge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and 4-7 years of experience.
