Registered Nurse - ICU @ Evanston Hospital

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel one shift per calendar month without paying for the canceled hours. Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BCLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred Must-Have: - Strong neurosurgical experience - Familiarity with EVDs, post-op craniotomy, stroke thrombectomy/TNK - Experience with ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow, and nitric oxide administration Job Description: - Provide care for patients in a Level I Trauma Center ICU. - Manage a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 based on needs. - Care for a variety of patients including those who have had CABG/Valve surgery, ECMO, LVAD, TAVR, and more. - Specialize in caring for neurosurgical patients, including post-cranial operations and those with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. - Administer treatments, such as TPA, and manage devices like deep brain stimulators and pulmonary artery lines. - Be familiar with conscious sedation, ICP, IV start, telemetry, and mechanical ventilation. - Handle obstetric hemorrhagic patients and eclamptic postpartum clients. - Fulfill weekend and holiday shift requirements as necessary. - Flexible floating between sites based on census needs. - Utilize Epic charting for patient documentation. - Complete an EKG test with a passing score required for ICU roles. Note: First-time candidates accepted. This is a position at an acute care facility, and engagement is with a Level I Trauma Center.
