RN (Registered Nurse)

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend (EOW), first to float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Must be able to multi-task and have superb time management skills; ability to administer cardiac drips Job Description: - Pre-screening by the clinical team, followed by a second interview - Cerner experience required - No first-time travelers - Unit includes 30 beds with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio for both days and nights - Utilizes pagers linked to a call light system and internal spectra link phones - Offers unit orientation of one full day on the primary unit and four additional hours on potential float units - Nurse aides are available, with the staffing depending on the census and time of day - A charge nurse is present who must have ACLS certification; assists staff nurses when needed - Shifts are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM - Breaks include a half-hour clock-out break and three 15-minute breaks per shift as per California law - Weekend work involves every other weekend or equivalent, with day shift on Sat/Sun and night shift on Fri/Sat - Scrub attire should be navy blue, including any scrub jacket; undershirts must be navy, white, or black - The unit does not handle ventilators, and there is no dedicated IV team, but ICU and ER can assist with hard IV sticks - RT and Pharmacy services are available 24/7 - The unit deals with telemetry/cardiac patients and can serve as an intermittent COVID unit as needed - The unit is extremely busy, handling non-diagnostic cath lab patients - Travel nurses will float first to MedSurg, all Tele units, and Burn ICU (caring for MedSurg/Tele patients only) with brief orientation provided - Hospital may cancel up to three times per contract, which could be a full shift or any part of a shift Note: Ensure privacy and confidentiality by removing specified sensitive and location-specific details from the posting.
