**Must-Have:** Cerner experience, strong central line experience
**Job Description:**
- Work in a MedSurg/Oncology unit with 27 beds.- Provide compassionate care and enjoy teaching and spending time with patients.- Ratios are 1 to 5 for MedSurg patients and 1 to 4 for chemo/telemetry patients.- Charting system used is Cerner.- Charge Nurses do not take patient assignments, and a resource nurse is available for assistance.- Target is 2 nurse aides per shift.- Weekend requirement is one shift every two weeks.- Holiday requirement includes 2 major holidays and a minor holiday.- Navy scrubs are required.- Remote telemetry monitored by techs; no management of vents required.- Hospitalist available in-house 24/7.- No IV team, but resource nurse available for assistance; specialized teams for PICC and midlines.- Round-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy support.- Shift timings are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.- Floating across other MedSurg units is expected.- Floor-specific orientation includes one shift for Cerner if needed and two shifts on the units.- Common diagnoses include general medical surgical, GYN, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, some spine cases, and joint procedures.- Oncology patients may not be on active chemo but could have a history of it, with 7 private oncology suites available.- Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, potentially covering full hours in lieu of cancellation.- Looking for nurses who are compassionate and enjoy patient education.
