Shift times will vary, and employees must be able to work day, swing, or night shifts as needed, which may include weekends and holidays. Work Location: San Francisco International Airport – Airport Integrated Operations Center. You will lead a collaborative team responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and planning for future operations as part of SFO's
Airport Integrated Operations Center (AIOC) . The AIOC will be SFO’s 24/7 guest-centric nerve center with end-to-end visibility through a common operating picture. You are a highly motivated individual looking to serve as an Operations Planning Team Leader in the AIOC to bolster the organization’s objective to enhance, advance, and support all operational activities at SFO. Under direction from the AIOC Shift Leader, you will manage the Operations Planning section to drive operational planning and forecasting for flight, passenger, and airport activity, and identify potential impacts of future operational conditions to ensure that those impacts are anticipated, highlighted, and proactively communicated. Your Impact: Oversee, coach, and develop the Operations Planning team, including performance management and identifying proper staffing and training needs for all personnel in the section. Lead the Operations Planning section to develop capacity in strategic and tactical operational analysis, as well as planning and process development and refinement. Deliver data-driven performance plans for SFO operations that are focused on enhancing the AIOC’s mission and goals in support of SFO’s Strategic Plan. Plan, develop, and implement predictive analytics tools to provide trend and forecast reports using industry-leading asset planning tools and novel applications. Provide in-house expertise on the use of data-driven performance and resource-planning tools and best practices, enabling the continuous development of efficient resource plans to deliver a predictable world-class experience. Oversee the development and communication of operational forecasts, asset plans, and predictive intelligence briefs. Collaborate with SFO’s Planning & Environmental Affairs team to coordinate, plan, and develop long-term physical and operational plans where impacts extend beyond the AIOC. Provide real-time flash reports as needed when an unexpected event occurs and significant changes affecting KPIs, operations, or function performance are detected. Define and drive new and innovative projects and collaborate with other AIOC personnel to predictively enhance operations in real time. Lead the development and implementation of a culture of planning, monitoring, and reviewing principles within the Operations Planning section along with other internal and external business partners. Collaborate with AIOC and SFO staff to identify opportunities to increase information sharing across the stakeholder community including external parties. Identify opportunities to cultivate cross-functional initiatives, plans, or processes that lead to optimization and improvement opportunities. Drive standards compliance and viability of AIOC sections through sound operations research management, business process management, and continuous improvement management practices. Perform other functions outlined in the 0923 – Manager II job classification. Minimum Qualifications: Education : Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university, AND Experience : Five (5) years of professional airport/aviation work experience in facilities or operations at a medium to large airport. Substitution : Education Substitution – Additional qualifying full-time work experience (2000 hours equal one year) as described above may substitute up to two (2) years of the required education. What you'll bring to SFO: Knowledge and experience in data and statistical analysis within an operationally focused organization, preferably an airport or other transportation hub. Knowledge and experience in aviation trends and forecasting, and the underlying principles of airports and airlines’ roles in the national airspace system. Experience managing, supervising, and training professional-level staff in complex functional areas, and communicating objectives and tactics to team members to achieve operational optimization and organizational goals. Ability to effectively drive organizational transformation projects, plans, and processes and implement strategic and tactical analysis development. Ability to develop and implement operational and customer experience optimization strategies. Any stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.
