About the RoleDoorDash Labs is hiring a full stack software engineer for the autonomy remote assistance team. Our team’s mission is to develop systems that enhance the capabilities of our autonomous vehicles and maximize the fleet’s operational efficiency. To accomplish that, you will work on internal web applications, backend services, and their integration with our autonomous systems. You will collaborate closely with our operators and engineering teams in autonomy, mapping and others. We are looking for someone to be a core member of a small team that values ownership, velocity, flexibility, creativity, and collegiality.

Design and implement cloud systems that support the operation of a fleet of autonomous vehicles

Design and implement solutions across the stack from frontend to backend, as well as contribute to code running on vehicle

Work closely with our operators and engineers to understand workflows and how to improve them

Collaborate with excellent teammates with expertise in different domains: autonomy, machine learning, simulation, mapping, operations, etc.

We’re excited about you because you have…

Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or similar

5+ years of experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant systems in the area of large scale real-time cloud applications; Nice to have: proficiency in Kotlin/Java, C++

Experience with SQL databases and relevant technologies (e.g. Postgres, CockroachDB, Redshift, Snowflake)

Experience in modern web app development; React and TypeScript experience is preferred

Ability to independently solve problems with high levels of ambiguity

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Prior experience in the autonomous vehicles domain
