The IT Coordinator for the School of Architecture is responsible for delivering excellent customer service assisting the Technology Services Coordinator in supporting the overall mission of the School of Architecture. Work performed by the IT Coordinator will span multiple, concurrent projects often under pressure of hard deadlines and/or time limitations. Specific needs can change throughout the semester.Responsibilities

Daily Operational Support - Advanced troubleshooting for core technology services: printing, plotting, equipment checkout, digital fabrication, etc. Address and resolve high-priority issues with a sense of urgency. Analyze and provide hands-on support on inquiries for hardware and software, ranging from simple to complex inquiries and/or mainstream and specialized equipment. Assists in maintaining IT inventory, including purchasing equipment, preparing end-of-life machines, and maintaining supplies and peripherals.

IT Coordination - Participates in technical planning for IT-related areas by developing and deploying workflows and best practices for new technologies, including in coordination with Liberal Arts Information Technology Services. Provide technical support for events by coordinating equipment and staff coverage for lectures, symposia, exhibitions, and other events. Maintains and updates accurate information across several systems, including inventory records, knowledge base, and network shares. Lead and participate in other projects and functions as assigned.

Customer Service - Deliver excellent customer service, coordinating activities with IT staff lead. - Gather information on issues and coordinate responses to ensure resolution. Follow up on issues to solve problems quickly and skillfully. Establish close communication and positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Exercise good judgment and make decisions to support defined goals and objectives within existing guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to effectively work within an IT operations team. Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proven ability to multitask, balance multiple projects concurrently, and maintain timely schedules. Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently. Demonstrated resourcefulness with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions. Demonstrated regular and punctual attendance in the workplace. The School uses a wide variety of digital resources and regularly adopts new technologies to support its activities. Successful candidates should have experience with some of the following and be willing to expand their skill sets: Familiarity with basic software troubleshooting. Familiarity with design and graphics software. Familiarity with AV systems connected to laptops and desktops (projectors, monitors, microphones, etc.). Familiarity with small-format printing systems and large-format plotting systems. Familiarity with digital fabrication equipment (laser cutters, CNC routers, etc.). Familiarity with inventory and supply monitoring systems. Experience working alongside students (student workers are hired each semester to support IT help desk operations).Preferred Qualifications

More than the required amount of experience and/or education. Demonstrated skills in customer-focused approaches to collaborating with faculty, students, and staff. Applicants with a background in technology, liberal arts, hospitality, or related fields are encouraged to apply as transferrable skills from these fields are extremely valuable to our mission. Ideal candidates are those with a combination of technical understanding and people skills. Demonstrated interest in architecture, design, or fine arts.Hourly Rate
