General DescriptionThe Finance Associate supports the Finance department by managing various financial processes and maintaining accurate records. Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, this role is integral in ensuring smooth financial operations within the College.

Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities• Card Management: Oversee the usage and control of College-issued travel cards.• Expense Reimbursements: Process expense reimbursements, ensuring they meet institutional guidelines.• Record Keeping: Maintain and organize financial records in line with established procedures.• Cash Receipts Processing: Manage cash receipts, including data entry and deposit preparation.• Accounts Receivable: Process invoices and ensure accuracy in financial balances.• Payment Preparation: Prepare payments for operational expenses as needed.• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to support financial operations.

Education RequirementsAssociate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

ExperiencePrevious experience in a financial or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.

Competencies and Skills Required• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS office, including Outlook and Excel, with the ability to leverage these tools for financial analysis.• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.• Communication: Good communication skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.• Attention to Detail: Careful attention to detail in financial tasks.• Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.• Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.

Physical Demands and Work Environment• This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.

Salaryup to $55,000

Terms of EmploymentFull Time. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
