Job Title : IT Systems Specialist - Networking and SystemsTravel : Up to 30%

Attendance:

This is a hybrid position with occasional remote opportunities. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with an on-call rotation consisting of one week and a weekend every three weeks.

Working conditions:

Work will generally be performed using computer equipment in an indoor office environment. Setup and maintenance of some peripheral equipment may require work in areas such as data rooms or wiring closets with restricted room for movement. Some lifting of up-to 50lbs. and climbing ladders are to be expected.

Job Summary:

The IT Systems Specialist is hybrid role combining aspects of both System and Network Administration. This role is responsible for the overall health, security, and performance of Miller Environmental Group's network infrastructure as well as being involved in Server Management. This individual will monitor, maintain, and optimize the company's LAN, WAN, VPN, and Server environments to ensure seamless communication, data integrity, and system availability. The IT Systems Specialist will collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure that the network meets current and future business needs.

Key Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.Monitor network performance to identify bottlenecks, security risks, and improvement areas, ensuring maximum network uptime and availability.Manage network security protocols, including firewall configurations, VPNs, and encryption, to safeguard the company's data.Manage Virtualized Server infrastructure.Maintain and troubleshoot both wired and wireless networks, ensuring consistent access for all employees.Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network-related services.Develop and implement network policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards and compliance regulations.Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, responding to incidents and applying patches when necessary.Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery and backup solutions for the network infrastructure.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues, escalating complex issues when required.Keep detailed documentation of the network architecture, configurations, and procedures.Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure efficient operation and seamless user experience across all systems.On-call rotation for after hours and weekend support.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.3+ years of experience in network administration, management, or a similar role.In-depth understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewalls.Strong experience with network security practices, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.Hands-on experience with Fortinet, or similar network devices.Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Sites and Services, DNS, DHCP, and GPO.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess and address network issues.Strong communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with team members.Working knowledge of advanced SPAM filtering systems (experience with Barracuda Email Protection and Managed XDR is a plus).Preferred Skills:

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is desired.Experience with cloud networking environments such as Azure or AWS.Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.Experience working in a corporate or environmental services setting.Travel:

This position may require up to 30% travel to various office or site locations to maintain and support network systems.

Salary Description

75,000.00 to 90,000.00
