Conducts sales and use tax reviews for DMA clients and provides other state and local tax consulting services. Participates in business development efforts. Has account management responsibility for assigned clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews client records for sales and use tax refund potential, credits, deficiency assessments, and procedural recommendationsPrepares written reports supporting DMA's position for State taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clientsWorks with State tax officials to achieve maximum tax savingsParticipates in business development effortsResponsible for client account management on assigned clientsUpdates work-in-process reportsRepresents clients during audits and in hearings with state taxing authoritiesConducts on-site inspection of client plants and operationsManages, coordinates, and reviews activities of Tax Analysts and Sr. Tax ConsultantsMaintains excellent knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisionsResearches more complex tax issuesAssist Director, National Accounts and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clientsNon-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or related field7-10 years' experience in sales/use tax consultingTexas auditor experience a plusAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to prioritize, meet deadlines, and possess exceptional attention to detailOrganizational and interpersonal skills requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to meet travel requirementsValid driver's license required
