Position Summary
Conducts sales and use tax reviews for DMA clients and provides other state and local tax consulting services. Participates in business development efforts. Has account management responsibility for assigned clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews client records for sales and use tax refund potential, credits, deficiency assessments, and procedural recommendations
- Prepares written reports supporting DMA's position for State taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients
- Works with State tax officials to achieve maximum tax savings
- Participates in business development efforts
- Responsible for client account management on assigned clients
- Updates work-in-process reports
- Represents clients during audits and in hearings with state taxing authorities
- Conducts on-site inspection of client plants and operations
- Manages, coordinates, and reviews activities of Tax Analysts and Sr. Tax Consultants
- Maintains excellent knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisions
- Researches more complex tax issues
- Assist Director, National Accounts and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients

Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 7-10 years' experience in sales/use tax consulting
- Texas auditor experience a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and possess exceptional attention to detail
- Organizational and interpersonal skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet travel requirements
- Valid driver's license required
