Senior Project Accountant . The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in accounting or finance, have extensive industry experience in architecture, construction or engineering and demonstrate proficiency in using Deltek software. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, providing strategic financial guidance and supporting the overall financial health of our client's organization.
Senior Project Accountant Responsibilities:Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsDevelop and maintain budgets, forecasts and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-makingOversee project cost accounting, including tracking and analyzing job costs, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and providing cost control recommendationsManage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliationLead the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysisCoordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policiesUtilize Deltek software for project accounting, financial reporting and system improvements. Train and support team members in using Deltek effectivelyConduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for financial performance improvementWork closely with project managers, department heads and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business objectivesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
Senior Project Accountant Requirements:
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field5+ years of accounting experience in the architecture, construction or engineering industriesProficiency in Deltek software is required. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulationsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectivelyDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple prioritiesCPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required
