JOB TITLE: Project Accountant
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Accountant will play a crucial role in managing project finances, including invoicing, and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients. The Project Accountant will contribute to the financial success and profitability of architectural projects through accurate financial analysis and reporting.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES :Review project contracts, proposals, and change orders to ensure projects are set up in ERP system according to contact terms.Prepare and submit client invoices ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and billing schedules.Monitor project accounts receivable aging reports and assist as needed in resolving payment issues in a timely manner.Reconcile project-related accounts, including project plans, expenses, revenue and project management fees, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.Prepare project financial reports, including project cost reports, variance analysis, and profitability analysis; assist in providing insights and recommendations to project teams and senior management.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting as needed; support financial audits as neededCoordinate with project managers, procurement staff, and vendors to track project expenses, purchases, and subcontractor payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project budgets and contracts.Support project teams and stakeholders with financial analysis, reporting, and ad-hoc requests as needed, contributing to the overall success and profitability of architectural projects.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.Strong understanding of project accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.Deltek experience is required.Strong proficiency in all aspects of the Deltek VantagePoint Billing module, including multiple billing formats and client specific billing requirements and pay applicationsIn-depth knowledge of project cost accountingAbility to read and understand contracts/proposals for accurate project setupExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of project management principles and practices is a plus.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
