Veterinary Technician Assistant

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Cleaning and organizing patient areasProper care for laundry (patient bedding, and/or surgical laundry)Restocking suppliesSafe patient handling and restraintWalking dogs (low-risk patients)Assist Advanced Technician Assistants, with necessary tasks related to patient care, diagnostics and proceduresDeliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in a polite and timely mannerAssess patient vital signs, and general patient monitoringAssisting with diagnostic tests such as radiographs, laboratory sample processing, examinationsPreparing for and assisting veterinarians with procedures and surgeryOpportunities to learn skills such as venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, assisting ER Technician appointments, and Outpatient careQualifications:
1 or more years' experience in a veterinary practice (receptionist, vet assistant, other) preferred, but not requiredProfessional, pleasant, engaged, clear communicator who is attentive and respectful to referring veterinarians, clients, and co-workers.Must be able to follow direction, balance multiple tasks, be confident, and prioritize tasks appropriately.Benefits and Perks (Full time):

OSVS is located in East Greenwich, RI with a satellite facility in Swansea, MA. OSVS is a 35,000 sf building with a very busy emergency service, a nationally-respected internship and residency program, and specialists in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Avian/Exotics. Specialized equipment includes telemetry, endoscopy, CT scanner, ultrasound, and MRI.
