Where you will work:The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper’s facilities, producing both paperboard and tissue products, and boasting over 1200 talented employees. Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper’s headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper’s business strategy. Lewiston is in close proximity to the University of Idaho, Washington State University, and Lewis-Clark State College, as well as several strong K-12 school districts.What you will do:AdministrationSupport and assist corporate training program implementation.Maintain and update online training systems and records.Monitor training results for information and cost.Conduct surveys for feedback regarding program effectiveness.Schedule and coordinate training for new hires, job bids, and advancements.Ensure safety and OJT training records are completed in a timely manner.Follow site training policy.Ensure completion and effectiveness of department onboarding process.Track training for employees (i.e. SCBA, Fit Tests, Mobile Equipment).AssessmentAssist department with review and update Centerlines, Standard Work, Log Sheets, etc.Audit and evaluate training systems regularly to verify program effectiveness.Meet with trainees and trainers on a consistent basis and provide updates to Management.Meet with Supervisors at the beginning of each rotation to assess employee skill levels and training needs for rotation.Participate in new hire interview panels as requested by department management.DevelopmentEnsure appropriate training is reviewed, updated, and conducted (i.e. SOP/JSA/WI, Qualcards, Assessment, etc.).Assist PSM Specialist on PSM specific SOP/JSA/WI, Qualcards, Assessments, etc.Assist the annual selection and maintenance of refresher safety training in UKG for online training.Research and incorporate new technologies and training methods to ensure training effectiveness.Ensure quality of training development and implementation of new systems, Qualcards, and assessments.Assist in development and implementation of training plan for all shifts.Assist crews as a trainer to allow other employees the opportunity to train.Assist new hires in their transition from previous employment to safe Clearwater employees.Ensure that the right equipment and processes are in place for efficient operations.Be a competent and credible source of knowledge to all employees.Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals from a variety of experiences, attitudes, and abilities.Manage change effectively.Be an active listener.Be an active learner (i.e. new skills, new technologies, new processes).Take ownership of the training process to overcome roadblocks, resolve differences, and correct deficiencies.Manage projects effectively.What you will need:High School diploma or GED required.Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience preferred.Minimum 2 years training & development preferred.Proficient in MS Office Suite and willing to learn PI, Parcview, DeltaV, JDE, TkPro, Process Map.Experience conducting training needs assessments.Experience designing and developing training material.SHRM certification preferred.Learning management system (LMS) experience preferred.Strong organizational skills and time management.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Ability to work in a high-speed manufacturing environment with sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, and walking on concrete surfaces.Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.Ability to work in conditions involving dirt, noise, odor, and temperature extremes.Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.Total Reward Details:We prioritize an exceptional workplace experience, offering a comprehensive total reward package.
