Controls Engineer
to help drive our continuous improvement efforts and keep us at the forefront of the industry.Job Summary:The
Controls Engineer
will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems for our automated manufacturing processes. You will work closely with our engineering, maintenance, and production teams to troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and ensure all machinery operates efficiently. This role is crucial in driving our mission to deliver high-quality products to our customers while maintaining operational excellence in our automotive manufacturing facility.Key Responsibilities:Design, program, and modify PLCs, HMIs, and control systems for automated machinery and production lines.Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.Diagnose and troubleshoot control systems to minimize production downtime.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize manufacturing processes.Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance machine efficiency, safety, and productivity.Integrate new equipment and technology into existing systems.Conduct root cause analysis for control-related failures and recommend corrective actions.Ensure all controls engineering projects comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.Provide technical support and training to the maintenance and operations teams.Maintain accurate documentation for control systems and ensure timely updates.Qualifications:Bachelors degree
in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.3+ years
of experience in controls engineering within the
automotive manufacturing
industry.Strong proficiency with
PLC programming
(Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent).Experience with
HMI/SCADA systems
development and troubleshooting.Familiarity with
robotics, vision systems , and industrial networking protocols.Strong understanding of
automated manufacturing processes , control systems, and machine integration.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across departments.Knowledge of
Lean Manufacturing
and
Continuous Improvement
methodologies is a plus.
