Job Summary

Reporting to the CFO, this position will be responsible for the Company's accounting function, cost controls and accounting policies and procedures. These responsibilities include the general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, payroll, tax reporting (domestic and international), consolidated financial statement preparation, and ensuring that statutory compliance and reporting requirements are met. As a senior member of the finance team, this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a work environment focused on quality and fostering learning, respect, open communication, collaboration and teamwork.

ResponsibilitiesManage the daily accounting operations, that include, but may not be limited to:Month end and year end processesaccounts payable/receivableCollections, cash receipts, cash planning and forecastingtreasury, budgetinggeneral ledgerpayroll and utilitiesall balance sheet account statement reconciliations, including capital assetscheck runs, domestic and international wiresfixed asset activitydebt activityWork with outside tax preparers to generate all required tax returns on a timely basisEnsure compliance to tax and governmental reporting requirementsCoordinate and complete annual auditsManage the accounting systems and supervise the implementation of new systemsEstablish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principlesDevelop and maintain strong internal controlsHelp prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAPEstablish and maintain records to document all transactionsPrepare, process and record payroll for Canada and USWork with purchasing team to ensure invoices are received and recorded in the appropriate periodProcess monthly bank reconciliations and record cash transactions daily including the management of FSA account transactionsManage invoicing of customers and assist with collectionsFunction as the administrator for company credit card accounts and ensure credit card transactions are recorded correctlyAssist with annual 401K auditEducation, Experience and Skills

Strong US GAAP accounting skills with 8+ years of increasingly responsible accounting and reporting experienceHigh proficiency in NetSuite ERPDomestic/international tax planning and reporting experienceExperience in customer and vendor contract review and negotiationsProven ability to effectively plan, organize and complete multiple complex activities, priorities and assignments on a timely basis in a fast-paced environmentStrong research and analytical ability, with the capability to effectively evaluate and implement solutions to accounting problemsStrong leadership, management, organizational and interpersonal skillsMust possess the ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of management and functional areas in the organization.Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization

The salary range for jobs which are performed in US, California is $50 to $75 per hour. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and work location.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working 3 days on-site and off-site. In certain circumstances the hybrid work model may change to accommodate business needs.
