Our firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal assistance, particularly in the realm of family law. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of drafting legal documents, experience with Clio software, and a passion for the legal industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of experienced attorneys, providing vital support for a diverse range of litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents and have knowledge of electronic court filings and litigation procedures.
  2. Conduct legal research, gather relevant case-related information, and summarize findings for attorneys.
  3. Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses.
  4. Manage and organize case files and documentation, ensuring all litigation materials are up-to-date.
  5. Coordinate with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals to schedule depositions, hearings, trials, and meetings.
  6. Maintain calendars and track deadlines to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  7. Utilize Clio software for case management, billing, and other administrative tasks.
  8. Provide general administrative support, such as preparing correspondence, answering phone calls, and maintaining attorney schedules.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
  2. Paralegal certification is required.
  3. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in family law.
  4. Proficiency in drafting and formatting legal documents.
  5. Extensive experience with legal research and legal terminology.
  6. Familiarity with the rules of civil procedure and court rules.
  7. Proficiency in using legal software like Clio.
  8. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  11. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  13. Proven ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other members of the firm.
  14. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
