Travel Nurse RN - ICU/Critical Care in Prattville, AL

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour Nights, 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers; travelers with 1-year experience not accepted License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Experience with Ventilator Management - General Medical ICU Skills - Telemetry and Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring/Recording Job Description: - Care for patients with conditions such as CHF, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Pneumonia, Cardiac Arrest, Hypertension, Hypotension, Pulmonary Edema, Sepsis, and DKA - Maintain patient ratios of 1:2-3 (Max) - Collaborate with hospitalists and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) - Utilize technology such as Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors - Handle phlebotomy tasks with support from the Lab Department; consult Vascular Access Nurse for midlines and PICCs as needed - Participate in weekend rotations every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month if on a block schedule - Work during one major and one minor seasonal holiday as per policy - Wear any color of scrubs as part of the uniform Support on the Unit: - Phlebotomy assistance is available through the Lab Department - RN is responsible for monitoring, recording, and managing telemetry and cardiac rhythms - Hospital typically staffs 3 hospitalists and 1 CRNP during the day shift; 1 CRNP at night Floating Requirements: - Required to float to any similar unit or patient location (e.g., MS-MS, MS-ICU tasks, ICU-ICU, ICU-MS tasks, ICU-ER/ICU holds)
