Our Project Accountant is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected.
What You'll Do
Maintain project-related records and effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billingReview and maintain time sheets, invoices, expenses, and project related assetsInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to leadershipPrepare reports on project profitabilityMonitor and report on project budgetsCreate all project-related billings to customersResearch and pursue opportunities for maximization of customer billingConfer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billingsRespond to requests for more detail from customersCreate and submit government reports and tax returns related to projectsCompile information for internal and external auditorsPerform other duties as requested by leadershipWhat You'll Have
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred3 years' experience in project accounting5 years' experience in billing and receivablesConstruction industry experience preferredDetailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documentsA thorough knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lumps sum, not-to-exceed and how they are applied in the billing processMust have excellent communication and writing skillsPossess excellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in prioritiesWhat You'll Get
