At Spartronics, the
Configuration Specialist
creates and maintains clear, accurate technical documentation and visual aids that support the engineering and configuration control teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic assembly, product lifecycle management tools, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, procurement, and program management.
Responsibilities:
Keying data into the Material Requirements Planning systems (MRP)Checking MRP bills of materials against customer documentation for both new product and for change controlWriting and processing Arena changes for internal and customer for internal sign off'Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer documents (component specs, etc.) to identify information required to build electronic assembliesDownload and manage customer documents (e.g., BOMs, Drawings, CAD files, AVL) in Arena.Transfer approved documentation from Arena to Macola for further processing.Process customer Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), waivers, and deviations as required.Assist Product Engineering with tasks such as Arena changes, VA generation, routers, and other engineering-related activities.Manage new Bill of Materials (BOM) setups, including the creation of internal item numbers for Procurement & BOM Building.Create and upload BOM files, including costing and lead times derived from quote files.Attend and contribute to New BOM Kick-Off meetings as necessary.Conduct full BOM checks, including AVL, P&IC code, and revision level validations before release.Provide support to other departments (e.g., Receiving Inspection, FQA, Purchasing, Program Management) by pulling necessary specifications and drawings.Update Approved Vendor List (AVL) information and ensure accuracy.Provide support for audits (e.g., ISO, Medical) and be able to explain internal processes.Assist with Arena system support, including uploads, reviews, ongoing training, and approval of ECOs, MCOs, and DCOs.Manage Gerber files setup for engineering and production use.Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Aegis Factory Logics, Macola (ERP system) is a plus.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to product work with a high degree of accuracyPreferred Skills
Familiarity with document control systems, including Macola and Arena.Key Metrics and Focus Areas
Accuracy and clarity of work contentTimely completion of documentation tasks, including BOM setups, uploads, and engineering change processes.Effective collaboration with Product Engineering, and other departments.Proactive support in audit preparation and documentation.Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting prioritiesEducation/License/Experience Required
