Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated

Technical Support Engineer

to work out of our

West Allis, WI

office. Technical Support Engineers (TSEs) interact with customers, Toshiba Japan, and internal groups to solve operation issues, uncover the cause of equipment failures, plan repair / maintenance / modification work, and maintain fleet history data. TSEs are the primary technical contact for their assigned units and are responsible for coordinating technical communications with those customers.

Essential Duties

Technical Support

Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned units.Analyze data as directed by others to execute operational troubleshooting or root cause analysis.Identify upgrade and modification opportunities to address customer's concerns.Develop outage workscopes and required parts lists with customers.Maintain the integrity of TAES unit history data.Interface with global office regularly to transfer technical information.Sales Support

Ensure commercial groups have all the technical information necessary to bid work accurately.Visit power generating facilities or customer's corporate centers.Travel

Travel up to 20% may be required to visit customers, attend TAES functions, or to visit the Toshiba Japan offices.Education and Required Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering requiredRelevant experience with utility scale (100MW+) steam turbine, generator, and auxiliary equipment (approximately 1-3 years). Technical knowledge commensurate with the duration of relevant experience is expected.Proficient in the use of personal computers and common office applications programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.Developing processes/procedures and writing technical reports.

The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be capable of navigating power generation facilities including stairs, narrow walkways, stepping over objects or gaps, and occasionally entering tight spaces.

Work Environment

The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate.Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
