Systems Engineer
with expertise in
Storage Systems
to support our infrastructure and help modernize our data storage and disaster recovery operations. This position will be responsible for managing and optimizing our storage environment, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across structured and unstructured data. The role will also focus on integrating new technologies and meeting the banks regulatory requirements for on-prem storage.Key Responsibilities:Storage Management : Oversee day-to-day operations of storage systems, including data replication, backups, and performance optimization for UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments.Enterprise Storage Infrastructure : Administer and troubleshoot various enterprise storage solutions, such as
Dell Data Domain, Pure Storage flash array, Isilon NAS, Dell EMC Isilon, ECS , and
Brocade fiber switches/directors .Backup Solutions : Lead the ongoing transition from
Avamar/Networker to Commvault
backup systems.FlashBlade S Testing : Test and implement new
FlashBlade S
NAS storage for snapshot-based disaster recovery.Documentation : Create and maintain detailed documentation of storage hardware and software configurations, connectivity, and capacity planning.Technical Planning : Contribute to technical planning for hardware upgrades, disaster recovery, and security protocols.Project Management : Deliver on technical storage projects, ensuring timelines and requirements are met.24x7 On-Call Support : Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent system issues and ensure timely response to critical storage problems.Collaboration and Training : Work with teams across the organization to develop training materials for new storage technologies, including
Dell ECS and FlashBlade .Service Improvement : Identify and execute improvements in storage services to enhance overall customer satisfaction.Primary Qualifications:Disaster Recovery Expertise : Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and the ability to develop and test recovery plans.Storage Virtualization : Proven experience with
storage virtualization technologies .Dell/EMC Midrange Arrays : Hands-on experience with Dell/EMC midrange storage solutions, including
Isilon NAS
and
ECS .Brocade Switches : Experience with
Brocade fiber switches/directors .Backup Software : Familiarity with enterprise backup systems, specifically
Commvault
and legacy
Avamar/Networker
solutions.VMware and Database Support : Expertise in
VMware VM recovery
and support of database servers such as
MS SQL .Technical Documentation : Strong skills in writing technical documentation.Additional Requirements:Travel : Occasional travel required.On-Call Support : Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.Evening/Weekend Work : Occasional after-hours work may be required.
