Software Test / Assurance Engineeer
to support our
Huntsville, AL
location. The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on projects involving mission and flight planning, software product testing, and analysis. Our team supports state-of-the-art projects, blending engineering skills and software design to perform research and analysis, modeling and simulation, software development, testing, and verification. Team members work with a wide-ranging group of customers to understand project requirements and develop innovative and creative solutions to address the nations most pressing challenges. Our employee owners support our customers by: Understanding and developing solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment Planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of products Maintaining and evolving software architectures and external interfaces to expand capabilities of models and simulations Supporting flight test analysis, planning, and execution The successful candidate will be an adaptable, agile, experienced software test engineer who is a consummate team player focused on the testing and quality of software systems in support of DoD weapon systems. The candidate will work with the Mission Assurance Team, the Product Owner, and the Software Development Team to define test strategies, identify vulnerabilities, and develop software testing suites. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and will possess effective communication skills. Duties Include: Develop and implement comprehensive software test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on software Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools Collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders to resolve defects and ensure high-quality software releases Develop methods to automate repetitive testing tasks to improve efficiency and coverage Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality. Conduct risk assessments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software testing and quality assurance Qualifications: Required Skills/Experience: 3-5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium) Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Solid familiarity with common programming languages (e.g., C#, Python) and scripting Experience using vulnerability assessment tools (e.g. Fortify, OWASP) Experience in quality assurance during the software development and deployment stages Sound oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly present and communicate testing approaches and findings to the team Experience working in an integrated development environment and using tools like Git, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment Travel: up to 5 % Must be a U.S. Citizen An active DoD
Secret
clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active
Secret
clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university and 3-5 years of progressively complex experience in software test, analysis, and quality assurance.
A relevant masters degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of relevant work experience
