Job Purpose

In this role you will be part of Canoo's Power Electronics Team within the Propulsion group and will be the leader of current and forward-looking Power Electronics Components including Traction Drive Inverter(s), DC/DC Converters or Onboard Chargers. As the Project Lead you will be expected to communicate cross-functionally across all engineering disciplines to engineer and deliver high quality Power Electronics Components(s) for vehicle production.

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

Component Technical Specification (CTS) Owner responsible for the Component Release and Change Management PresentationsManage Project Bill of Materials (BOM) and Sourcing StrategyOversee Project ScheduleLead Design Failure Mode and Effects (DFMEA) Discussions and Documentation and Preliminary and Final Design Reviews (PDR / FDR)Define Cost Targets, Support Budget Definition and TrackingManage Statement of Work's (SOW) and Request for Quote's (RFQ) and Manage First Article Sample ReviewsLead Weekly Product Execution Team (PET) MeetingsSupport Cross-Functional Team Members as NeededRequired Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related fieldMinimum 3 years of professional engineering experienceStrong communication, presentation, and teamwork skillsAbility to solve complex problemsProficient in MS Office applicationsSelf-starter / ability to work independentlyMulti-tasker, cover multiple projects at oncePreferred

Experience

Master's degree in in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMore than 5 years engineering experienceFamiliarity with automotive standardsProficient in Catia V6 (3D Experience) or similar mechanical CAD tools or electrical schematic and layout toolsExperience in component design for various manufacturing processes such as casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication or printed circuit board and fabrication and assembly, wire harness assembly, and electronic assemblies.Travel Requirements

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% depending on program phase.
