Summary:
The FirstBank Data Governance Analyst serves as the primary data liaison between technical, business and data management. The role is a hybrid of business, risk management governance and technical skills with a primary focus on data knowledge, quality, and proper utilization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Measures and monitors data quality, designs, and executes remediation plans, maintains, and supports applicable data management standardsImplements and supports data quality requirementsPerforms user acceptance testing (with applicable consumers) and reviews results with Data Owner for approvalReviews data quality issues, perform analysis, recommend fixes, and/or report timely any breaches of thresholds to Data Owners, Data Consumers, and escalate as needed to Enterprise Data Management (EDM)Manages and resolves or remediates data issues identified by Data Owners and Data ConsumersManages, executes, and tracks data quality remediation plans in coordination with all stakeholdersTracks and reports data quality statistics for data qualityCollects and updates business metadata and reference dataTranslates business rules into data quality rules and produces data controlsSupports applications and platforms to enable effective sharing of dataProvides training and data assistance as neededQualifications

Education and/or Experience
College degree in computer science, business administration, finance, or relevant technical, data governance or regulatory compliance experience5+ years of experience in either data governance, risk management, audit, regulatory compliance, or equivalent relevant work experience within a regulated financial services companyExperience with data governance and data management and working familiarity of DCAM or similar industry best practice standardsSkills and Abilities
Self-directed and self-driven with the ability to work at both a strategic and tactical levelDemonstrated strong problem-solving capabilitiesData Analysis capabilities to include Data Profiling, Data Quality and Frequency DistributionWorking technical expertise with SQL/SAS/PythonPrior Jack Henry system experience a plusAbility to learn additional systems as neededDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of data management tools and practicesFamiliarity with data quality issues and Exact, Transform, Load (ETL) processesAbility to present technical information to business partnersSolid written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application development skillsStrong ability to review and analyze data, and identify and resolve problemsStrong Banking Data Domain expertise including hands on experience and analysis of lending, deposit, and investment data.Strong research and problem determination and solution skillsStrong skills in data analysis - developing macros, scripts, queries to calculate data qualityTypically work across many data assets and is an operations or technology person who is responsible for a data asset as it flows through systemsUnderstanding of data architecture practices
