Job Overview: We are seeking a qualified PLC Programmer to join our client's electrical maintenance team. This role is crucial for maintaining, programming, and supporting PLC operation systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine mechanics, a logical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of electrical machines and systems within a union environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop control programs for electrical machines and systems. Diagnose faults and perform necessary maintenance. Address and repair AC/DC circuits. Develop and optimize PLC processes. Visualize processes to ensure systems operate at full potential. Develop, maintain, and deliver training to the team. Coordinate and prioritize work to support production requirements. Assist in scheduling and supporting hourly electricians performing maintenance tasks. Plan work and ensure all necessary parts are available to support electrical maintenance tasks. Provide continuous improvement design and development support for ongoing projects. Perform any other tasks as directed by the Supervisor. Requirements include: Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of validated experience and education. Experience: 3 years of controls/PLC programming experience in an industrial production environment. Skills: Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming. Strong proficiency in Allen Bradley Ladder logic programming for PLC5, SLC500, and ControlLogix. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and procedures. Certifications: Knowledge of NEC and NFPA regulations related to electrical safety. Knowledge: Knowledge of medium voltage and infrastructure. Familiarity with Wonderware. Key Competencies: Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Information: Work Environment: Union environment within an industrial production setting. Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required. Reporting Structure: Reports to the Supervisor.
