$23.07 - $36.91 Hourly$47,989 - $76,782 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band 65Posting DetailsThe Law Enforcement Records Bureau gathers, analyzes, and disseminates criminal justice data used by New Mexico law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, courts, and civil agencies to ensure public safety. The bureau maintains complete and accurate records and responds to the needs of the public, law enforcement and criminal justice agencies providing support and customer engagement through our many applications, programs, and services to achieve the mission objectives. Why does the job exist?The Missing Persons Clearinghouse Analysts maintain a centralized file for exchange of information on missing persons and unidentified human remains. They gather information and facilitate intrastate communication with federal, national, and international law enforcement agencies. They comply with Chapter 29, Article 15 NMSA 2011 / Missing Person Information Clearinghouse. They interpret applicable statutes, policy, procedures or regulations for drafting correspondence, final reports and training related to missing persons; assist NCIC with missing persons entries audits. Liaise with local, state, federal officials as well as public, civic, nonprofit, and private agencies to disseminate information. Keep abreast of changing policies, laws, regulations, and national trends. Coordinate activities between local, state, and federal, and private programs. How does it get done?1. Research, comprehend, and utilize New Mexico Statutes Annotated Chapter 29 Section 15 and 15A to collect, process, maintain and disseminate accurate and complete information on missing persons.2. Manage outreach to all New Mexico law enforcement and civil agencies; develop and train stakeholders; partner with national organizations to exchange missing persons information.3. Per NMSA 29-15-3 (C) communicate with the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) on exchange of missing persons information; quality control of data; maintain DPS Website for missing persons, etc.4. Plan, coordinate, and participate in multiple outreach events throughout New Mexico. Who are the customers?General Public, Law Enforcement, Courts, Corrections and Criminal Justice Agencies Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills: 1. Working knowledge of New Mexico Statutes Annotated and New Mexico Administrative Code. 2. Tactical analysis, problem solving and critical thinking in a fast-paced criminal justice environment. 3. Strong organization skills; problem solving, planning and organizing skills. 4. Sound written and oral communication skills. 5. The ability to closely follow quality standards and consistently identify mistakes across thousands of inspections. Minimum QualificationBachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free, per Section 5.12.1.1 of the Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy.In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a current Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico; or pass and receive the Defensive Driving Certificate within six (6) months of date of hire.The selected candidate will work with highly confidential and high-volume data flow must have the ability to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy within strict time constraints as well as, handle multiple tasks and request from several people at once. Working ConditionsOffice setting, exposure to Visual Video Display terminal and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. Subject to a national fingerprint-based record checks prior to assignment.
