$23.07 - $36.91 Hourly$47,989 - $76,782 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band 65Posting DetailsThe Law Enforcement Records Bureau gathers, analyzes, and disseminates criminal justice data used by New Mexico law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, courts, and civil agencies to ensure public safety. The bureau maintains complete and accurate records and responds to the needs of the public, law enforcement and criminal justice agencies providing support and customer engagement through our many applications, programs, and services to achieve the mission objectives. Why does the job exist?This is an enthusiastic, collaborative, and resolution based analyst that reviews records, operational data, and technical records of law enforcement, criminal justice, courts, corrections, and civil agencies accessing Criminal Justice Information (CJI) to confirm compliance with applicable statutes, administrative regulations, and policies including Public Law 92-544. How does it get done?1. Reviews outsourcing agreements and up-to-date authorization via legislation implemented to authorize viewing and disseminate of Criminal History Record Information (CHRI); manages user agreements. 2. Conducts security inspections. Identifies, documents, and recommends resolutions to concerns discovered to agency, and conveys to the DPS CJIS Security Officer, DPS Deputy CJIS Security Officer, and DPS CJIS Information Security Officer. 3. Conducts misuse investigations; develops curriculum, and provides statewide training; records and monitors agencies information security, privacy and specific role-based training activities; confirms agencies retain individual training records; 4. Fields calls, emails, text messages, and mail from the FBI, all criminal, correctional and civil non-criminal agencies accessing FBI resources. Thorough understanding of law, court procedures, court systems, and rules of the assigned jurisdiction. 2. Exceptional research, planning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. 3. Excellent presentation, collaboration, and verbal and written communication skills. 4. In-depth criminal justice knowledge regarding best practices, policies, current regulations, and technology. 5. Excellent work ethic. Minimum QualificationBachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free, per Section 5.12.1.1 of the Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy.In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a current Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico; or pass and receive the Defensive Driving Certificate within six (6) months of date of hire.The selected candidate will work with highly confidential and high-volume data flow must have the ability to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy within strict time constraints as well as, handle multiple tasks and request from several people at once. Working ConditionsOffice setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. Subject to a national fingerprint-based record checks prior to assignment.
