We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction development industry. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, analytical acumen, and hands-on problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including balance sheet reconciliation, accruals, month-end close, variance analysis, and job costing. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to delve into the intricacies of the construction industry and make a significant impact on our company's financial health and growth.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury.
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Managing the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data has been recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conducting variance analysis to identify trends, make recommendations, and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
- Implementing and maintaining job costing systems, ensuring all costs are accurately captured and allocated to the appropriate projects.
- Preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborating with other departments to streamline operations, improve processes, and optimize productivity.
- Staying abreast of current trends, developments, and changes in accounting regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Extensive experience with balance sheet reconciliation, accruals, month-end close, variance analysis, and job costing.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
