Salary Pay Range for This Position:$24.33 - $34.04

POSITION SUMMARY:The Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist I is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of members' mortgages, including, but not limited to, posting payments, generating payoff demands and verifications of mortgage, performing new loan audits, processing reconveyances, preparing subordinations, organizing Wescom's loan vault, and researching/responding to member and third party inquiries.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:Review and post mortgage payments received by check and ACH. Work with Collections department to post payments as necessary. Set up one-time and recurring ACH payments and reverse payments when needed.Communicate Wescom's policies and procedures for payoff demands and verifications of mortgage to members and escrow companies. Complete payoff demand requests received from escrow companies, Collections, and RE Production within the time guidelines established by federal regulations and Wescom. Compile data from Symitar and FICS to determine loan payoff amount.Complete new loan audits of recently funded loans, confirming accuracy of loan terms and making corrections as necessary. Ensure that loan files are imaged and loans are prepared for forthcoming servicing functions.Process loan payoffs received via check and wire. Allocate funds to various general ledger accounts Update applicable system data to reflect loan payoffs. Work with vendor to prepare reconveyance documents in accordance with regulatory requirements. Work with escrow companies to review and prepare subordinations in accordance with Wescom's policy and procedures.Organize and maintain Wescom's secure loan vault. File trailing documents, modification agreements, subordination agreements, and other legal documents into fireproof cabinets. Pull paid in full and other inactive files and prepare for long-term storage.Research and respond to member inquiries via phone, email, mail, and fax, including, but not limited to, inquiries related to taxes/insurance, payment adjustments, loan histories, tax reporting, name/address updates, and requests for documentation.Perform the activities and projects as assigned and requested by Mortgage Loan Servicing management.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Bachelor's Degree preferred.A minimum of two years previous Credit Union, banking, or real estate lending experience are essential.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Time management and organizational skills.Data entry, analytical skills, and demonstration of good judgement.COMPUTER SKILLS:Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Proficient in FICS and Symitar preferred.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
