Responsibilities : Supports and as assigned is responsible for the following: performing analyses, monitoring, and providing recommendations in support of the automated and transactional underwriting and pricing decisions in the CL segment. Assists the Underwriting Practices Manager other CL UW Practices Analyst(s) through analysis in ensuring the quality and integrity of automated and transactional underwriting and pricing decisions in the CL segment through the development and optimization of underwriting artificial intelligence and learning models, and the enablement and governance of 3rd party data integrations via multi-channeled underwriting platforms. Learns to monitors and provide suggestions of risk prequalification, underwriting policies and rules, account pricing, product eligibility, authority / referral rules, risk and underwriting quality, and automated workflows. Learns to analyze various data and information of low to moderate complexity to provide input and suggestions. Analyzes risk exposures and controls to assist with the effective monitoring, modifying, and creating of underwriting rules to drive profitability in the CL segment. Analyzes underwriting rules, loss trends, and emerging issues. Utilizes this information to provide input to the strategic direction for improving specific lines of business and industries. Analyzes and leverages risk insights, data, advanced analytics, performance of products and lines of business, and identification of trends to support informed decisions regarding underwriting rules and automation. Analyzes Industry underwriting rules and system standards and formulates recommendations that help to identify new market opportunities and system enhancements. Benchmarks CL Underwriting Rules against competitors, examining the strengths and weaknesses of Westfield relative to those competitors. Analyzes and understands competitor positions and makes recommendations for enhancement(s) or development(s) of the Westfield Underwriting Rules to strengthen competitive position. Learns to work with and collaborate with product development on trends and emerging issues to implement and update system requirements to support growth and profit. Supports the monitoring of underwriting rules performance by line of business, industry, and business class. Assists with the implementation of automated underwriting, pricing, and workflows associated with product/underwriting enhancements, launches or discontinuations. Provides assistance with underwriting manual updates and maintenance of the industry specific Supplemental Questionnaires. Executes CL Master Commercial Authority Guide (CAG) updates with the guidance of the CL Underwriting Practices Manager. Works in partnership with the CL Product Operations team on the deployment and publishing of Underwriting Rule enhancements. Collaborates with and leverages corporate shared services functions to bring the CL competitive strategy to life and achieve results; aligns with corporate governance while maintaining a singular focus on the customer. Builds and utilizes strong partnerships to drive alignment for the mutual benefit of both CL and the organization. Qualifications: 1 years of work experience including knowledge of and/or experience with the following: performing various analyses/reporting including research and development. Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of financial, statistical, and mathematical concepts used in business analysis. Experience with one or more of the following: commercial insurance product automation, processes and functions, proprietary policy administration and industry comparative quoting platforms, artificial intelligence & analytical learning models, and third-party data integrations. Knowledge of or the experience in developing business cases and developing and communicating business needs and project specifications. Experience tactfully and persuasively handling conflict. Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including facilitation and group presentation skills. Experience interpreting insurance financial metrics. Strong initiative and work management skills. Strong knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Bachelor's degree in Business or Risk Management or commensurate experience. Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
