The Business Intelligence Analyst will have opportunities to deliver self-service analytical capabilities with highest priority across Westfield. In this role, they will work directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and translate those needs into data, metrics, dashboards and reports. They will collaborate with BI Agile teams to deliver these self-service capabilities and ensure effective utilization of these assets through training and change management with end-users. Responsibilities : Working under direct to moderate supervision, provides reporting and analytics on assigned projects of low complexity. Identifies potential sources of data and selects the appropriate data to meet business requirements. Working under direct to moderate supervision, extracts and prepares data to ensure the most complete, highest quality data is used. Develops knowledge and experience with relevant tools, technologies, and techniques to perform basic to moderate analyses. Begins utilizing quantitative and qualitative analysis to conduct primary and secondary research. Derives findings and advises recipients (e.g. ARC leadership, business units) of potential impacts, options, and provides recommendations. For Market Research and Insights focused roles. Provides research and support to competitive intelligence, voice of customer, market definition, effectiveness monitoring, sentiment and perception analysis, as well as satisfaction and loyalty analysis. Begins developing critical thinking skills used in understanding data, business concepts, and analytical concepts. Incorporates the use of data, where appropriate, to effectively communicate basic to moderate analytical and business concepts and content. Provides thoughtful and well researched insights on business and market conditions, trends, and opportunities along with insights on consumers, agencies, customers, and employees. Collaborates with partners to create data needed. Develops and maintains awareness and knowledge of internal and external business activities, trends, best practices, and tools. Proactively develops relationships and fosters collaboration with key partners within the organization. Identifies opportunities for improvement of processes and supports process improvement efforts. Creates and maintains accurate procedure documentation and reference materials. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions. Qualifications: Professional analytical work experience with demonstrated ability to provide reporting and analytics of basic to moderate complexity. Demonstrated strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to pass required assessment. Knowledge of financial, statistical, and mathematical concepts used in business analysis (e.g., regression, correlation and covariance, multivariate analysis) including exposure to advanced statistical concepts (e.g. discrete event simulation, predictive analytics, data mining). Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field or commensurate insurance experience. Proficiency in two or more of the following software packages (or similar products): Excel, Cognos, SPSS, SAS, Arena, ESRI, ILOG, Tableau. Demonstrated interest and ability in expanding knowledge and skills. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to distill and communicate technical and analytical materials to non-technical/non-analytical audience. Previous insurance background or business data analysis background a plus. Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards. Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
