Information Technology's mission is to continually enhance our services to agency divisions, WSDA employees and ultimately the stakeholders of Washington while providing core IT services, network connectivity and software solutions in the most efficient and effective manner possible. The IT Systems Administrat

works within the Information Technology Office providing full scope IT services to all staff and resides under the Administrative Services Division. This position administers and troubleshoots current technology assets and processes for the entire agency throughout the state, which includes 20 remote sites. This position manages, configures, and deploys new or emerging technologies, with a focus on cloud services, manages virtual servers within the State Data Center, desktop applications, mobile and remote work platforms, automated processes, infrastructure capacity planning, assists with implementation of system metrics indicating the health and performance of infrastructure components and systems, advises IT leadership regarding technical infrastructure changes, and helps to ensure best IT practices align with business objectives.

Position and Salary Information

WSDA is recruiting for a full-time non-permanent IT Systems Administrator position within the Administrative Services Division. This position is eligible for a flexible/hybrid schedule and will need to report to the WSDA Headquarter Office located in Olympia, Washington. This position is non-represented.

Duties

Some of what you'll do:

Designs, installs, and configures server customization based on agency needs within a Hyper-V environment.Provision storage and manages the agency's clustered environment within the State Data Center.Provides administration, maintenance support, and upgrades to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager for servers and workstations.Manages software deployments, patch remediation and compliance, hardware, and software inventory for the agency.Develops and implements standards and procedures pertaining to enterprise-wide services such as Active Directory and print & file services.Contributes to the development of business plans, decision packages, and acquisition strategy for Department of Agriculture Systems & Infrastructure section.Develops reliable automation efficiencies and monitoring, using Orchestrator, ActionHub and an IT ticketing system.Creates and maintains technical documentation of procedures, processes, and service requirements.Veeam backups manager to essential servers and desktop systems.Provides agency wide application assistance as needed.Collaborates throughout the agency to develop business plans, requirements, and strategy.Hybrid Cloud \ On-Premises Active Directory Administrator: responsible for creating, configuring, and administering user, group, and computer objects as needed.Serves in a backup role to configure and administer M365 services, to include Exchange Online.Advises agency leaders on the integration of new cloud technologies with existing technologies for various IT projects.Develops reliable automation efficiencies utilizing on-premises and cloud services as needed.Contributes to developing technology roadmaps and release plans for enterprise projects including the migration to cloud-based technologies.Creates and restores agency backups for critical servers from a cloud services provider.Serves in a backup role for training agency employees on the use of M365 services to assist them with migrating manual processes to automated processes.Designs virtual server and desktop solutions utilizing both cloud and on-premises resources such as Microsoft Azure, Hvper-V, and Citrix.Contributes with the planning and implementation of enterprise services disaster recovery and resiliency processes and procedures by creating documentation and implementing processes designed to avoid or minimize service downtime during and after departmental, local, area, or regional emergencies and disasters.Qualifications

HolidaysFull-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.

Part-time employees who are in pay status during the month of the holiday qualify for the holiday on a pro-rata basis. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Pay status includes hours worked and time on paid leave.

Sick LeaveFull-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.

Sick leave accruals for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

Vacation (Annual Leave)Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave.

Part-time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment.

Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

As provided in , an employer may authorize a lump-sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and/or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC 357-31-165.

Note:

Most agencies follow the civil service rules covering leave and holidays for

exempt

employees even though there is no requirement for them to do so. However, agencies are required to adhere to the applicable RCWs pertaining holidays and leave.

Military LeaveWashington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year.

Bereavement LeaveMost employees whose family member or household member dies, are entitled to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave. In addition, the employer may approve other available leave types for the purpose of bereavement leave.
