Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for general accounting and tax responsibilities within the Family Office group. This individual will be based out of the New York office. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reportingPrepare monthly bank and investment account reconciliationsManage the filing of various tax returnsResponsible for day to day accounting and record keeping for multiple entitiesAssist in preparation of 1099 NEC & MISCLiaise with third-party advisors and institutionsReview tax returns prepared by CPA firms to ensure accuracyAssist with accounts payable functions such as paying bills by check or wire transfers as neededAssist with collection of rental income monthlyAssist with special projects and prepare ad hoc reporting requested as neededCompile and respond to various tax notices in a timely mannerPrepare timely net worth statements, budgets and other accounting reportsMaintain understanding of current and changing tax practices and lawTrack charitable contributions and giftsCompensation

$110,000 - $140,000 / yearAnnual performance based bonusQualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Taxation, CPA preferredMinimum of 7+ years of accounting and/or tax experience, family office and/or real estate industry preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles and overall tax process; detailed knowledge of tax and estate planning as well as regulatory requirementsDemonstrated ability to interact with senior executives and naturally adaptive to different audiences, diplomatically assertiveAbility to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential informationAbility to handle multiple tasks and work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent written, communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and QuickBooks is a plus
