Registered Nurse - PCU @ Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Pulmonary PCU Job Duration: Up to 26 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Experience: Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required License: Missouri or Compact License; pending license accepted Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required; BSN preferred Must-Have: - Ventilator management and weaning experience- IV start proficiency- Proficiency in telemetry and phlebotomy- Experience with trach management, long-term vent, pulmonary rehab, ABG draw, port access, central lines Job Description: - RN/PCU Ratios: 1:2-3 for all shifts- Orientation: 40 hours required- First-time applicants accepted- Weekend rotation required: Every other weekend- Must be open to floating within the service line, including medical-surgical units- No on-call requirements- Block scheduling not available- Local applicants not accepted (must reside at least 75 miles from the facility)- Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliated hospitals- EPIC charting experience required- Regular fit testing required without facial hair exceptions- Must be vaccinated for flu, with medical or religious exemptions only- No local candidates within the 75-mile radius- Adherence to holiday work policy: requirement to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day)- Gaps in employment allowed; however, permanent employees must wait a year to return as travelersEnsure all candidates comply with relevant requirements prior to submission.
