The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for GIS Technician in the IT Department. The incumbent performs data and mapping activities using geographic information system (GIS) and computer-aided drafting (CAD) software under the general supervision of the GIS Coordinator, including creation, conversion and maintenance of graphic and non-graphic data and the preparation of maps and map books for City users and departments. Additionally, the GIS Technician facilitates the needs of all City employees by completing requests submitted through the IT work request system and is assigned projects or to a project team. High school graduate or equivalent with at least 4 years additional education and experience in geographic information systems (GIS) including experience in ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Desktop or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with ArcGIS Insights, OpsDashboard, GeoEvent Server, ModelBuilder, or Python are preferred. Must possess a valid Oklahoma drivers license and be insurable. Must obtain a Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Regulations (Part 107) license within one (1) year of hire.
