The Opportunity
We are actively recruiting a Chief Growth Officer to join our Rochester office.
The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) is a multi-disciplinary role with both a strategic and tactical focus. The CGO will be responsible for crafting, executing and overseeing the marketing and business development strategies for the Firm.
As part of the Firm's leadership team, this role will collaborate with the Partner group to ensure Partners are executing in alignment with the marketing and business development strategy and goals of the Firm, as well as their respective practice areas.
The business development responsibility of this position includes design and delivery of an integrated overarching go-to-market strategy for developing new clients for the Firm. This role will focus on the development of external connections, as well as the design and implementation of programs, content, and materials to support new client cultivation. The CGO will support a focused strategy centered around client retention through programs and processes, including ways that position and differentiate the Firm within the market.
The marketing responsibility includes collaborating with the Partner group to define brand strategy, as well as the oversight and management of the established strategy. This role will design and deliver day-to-day marketing activities for the Firm, produce/oversee production of all materials representing the business in a marketing and branding capacity. This individual will take a proactive approach to interacting and building relationships with prospects, customers, and the community to extend the brand image and be in the forefront within our industry and within the market.
Key Responsibility Areas
Proposal/RFP Process:
Responsible for integrating brand strategy and professional image into proposal materials
Stay current on RFP trends
Manage/track each practice group's proposal/RFP process to maximize effectiveness of response, streamline process and minimize overall time spent
Engage with high touch support to the Partner group on proposals offering relationship touch points for client, proposal review, rehearsal if needed, managing client hand off for signature, and debrief pros and cons for wins and losses
Track, monitor, and report on proposal stages for in-play proposals through to the signed proposal stage
Actively consult as needed with MMB+CO team members for upcoming prospect opportunities
Community & Client Relations:
Develop and cultivate networking relationships and community presence to enhance the Firm's image in the community
Increase involvement in targeted professional associations and or Boards while promoting the Firm
Research and develop marketing opportunities to raise Firm or Partner visibility including sponsorships, partnerships, writing opportunities, client panels and presentations
Manage Marketing team who coordinates logistics for events, seminars, trade shows, Partner speaking engagements, public relations and community activities, including establishing and managing event budget, site selection, development of invite list, invitation process, site set-up, CPE planning and post event follow-up
Prospecting & Sales:
Design and deliver an integrated go-to-market strategy for growing net-new clients based on performance targets for this business development position
Provide suggested go-to market strategies for Partners to uncover new leads
Identification of industries to target for new business development
Understand and document client profile for each practice area to leverage for targeted prospecting
Manage a referral / lead program from outside sources (law firms, clients, etc.) and tracking sources and programing to recognize and leverage its value
Consult with MMB+CO team members on in-play prospect opportunities and provide resources and support to close the opportunity, including participating in prospecting calls
Marketing Strategy & Management:
Collaborate with the Partners to define/refresh brand strategy.
Website design strategy
Oversee graphic design materials to support marketing needs
Work with and manage outside agencies/consultants
Oversee public relations by guiding the strategy and implementation for informing external audiences, including press releases, interviews, speeches, managing the Firm's public reputation
Work with and manage outside PR agencies relations
Content management for all channels, blog posts, white papers, presentations, etc.
Manage the life cycle of images, video, multimedia as well as text. Ensuring design/creation follows established guidelines and storage and retrieval management.
Competitive Landscape Monitoring & Analysis
Collect and monitor identified competitors for each local market, with reference to pricing, brand presentation, and brand positioning
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related discipline
