Are you a seasoned professional in the construction industry with a knack for cost estimation and commercial project management? We're on the hunt for a Permanent Commercial Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be at the helm of our construction projects, ensuring that they are financially feasible, meticulously planned, and executed with precision. You'll be the backbone of our operations, using your expertise to steer us towards profitability and success.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Commercial Estimator, you will:

  1. Develop comprehensive project estimates and budgets, ensuring that our projects are financially viable and profitable.
  2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
  3. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges or obstacles and devise strategies to mitigate them.
  4. Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure the best possible terms and conditions.
  5. Utilize your expertise in financial analysis to assess the financial viability of projects and make recommendations for improvement.
  6. Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that all obligations are met and that any changes or issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  7. Use Microsoft Office and other software tools to prepare reports, track costs, and maintain records.
  8. Implement cost control measures to ensure that projects stay within budget, identifying and addressing any issues that could lead to cost overruns.
  9. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that projects are executed effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Commercial Estimator position, you must have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation and construction management.
  3. Proven expertise in budgeting, negotiation, blueprint reading, risk assessment, financial analysis, contract management, and cost control.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software tools used in cost estimation and project management.
  5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions.
  6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
  7. A keen attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  8. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate issues and devise solutions before they become problems.
  9. A strong commitment to quality, with the ability to ensure that projects meet or exceed client expectations.
