Job Summary
Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems and that they are in compliance with One&Only Resorts standards of operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specificationsOversee the daily performance of computer systemsSet up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate softwareMaintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activitiesRead technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and supportConfer with staff, users to establish requirements for new systems or modificationsDevelop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and softwareRefer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for servicePrepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgradesInspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to usersAnswer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problemsObserve system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errorsSupport the information system function within the resorts using appropriate systems management procedures and practices to ensure the operating effectiveness and integrity of dataAssists the Director, IT in the entire network maintenance, this includes administration and documentation of computer networks, telephone and cable TV networksAssists the Director, IT in systems management and new projectsUse and handles IT equipment with care and according to Director's instructions.Attends briefings and meetings as requested.Performing any other tasks as assigned. Support & Maintenance of I.T. infrastructure including telecommunications.Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
Preferred previous experience working in IT and/or within a resort environmentExcellent customer service skills, even in times of high demand, low resources, or unhappy usersAbility to translate complex technical issues into terms easily understood by end usersProficiency in Help Desk software, ticketing systems, and endpoint management toolsRelevant entry-level certifications preferred: CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MTA, ITIL v3 Foundation
