Under the direction of the Manager of Distribution Center and Manufacturing IT Support, provides exceptional technical support and enhancements to Menard, Inc. as part of the IT Support team. Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to company computer equipment and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Willingness to learn new softwareWillingness to learn new computer skillsMust have working knowledge of computers and their operating systemsUnderstand mobile technologies and equipment such as smartphones and tabletsConfigure and install hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drivesLoad specified software packages, such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computerEnsure consistent implementation of processes including:

Installation of new or replacement equipmentDe-installation of existing equipmentInitial testing processes for boot-up and image load

Perform generic and basic tests on connectivity and application launchesRespond to Team Member inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problemsInstruct users in use of equipment, software, and manualsRecommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems and documents issuesCoordinate activities with support desk, network services, or other information systems groupsReplace defective or inadequate software packagesPerform monthly preventive maintenance on all computer equipment at supported locationsDevelop and implement ways to continuously improve support locationsProvide updates, status, and completion information to manager, team lead and/or Team Members, via voicemail, email, or in-person communicationPrepare paperwork to document work in progress, completed work, and other necessary tracking paperwork; submits paperwork on a timely basis to department managementTravels daily to remote locations to perform prescribed installations and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.Remote locations include Menards stores within a 2 hour drive from the Jeffersonville DC site.Routinely works aloft on ladders with hand tools and test setsConduct routine inventory, warehouse, shipping, and receiving dutiesFollow established company policies regarding the safekeeping and security of equipment under repairSkills & RequirementsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:A Two Year Technical Degree or service experience in Computer Hardware, Computer Networking, Management Information Systems, Computer Repair, Computer Science, Information Technology ManagementMinimum of 2 years related experience including:

Installation, Repair, Upgrading, and Troubleshooting computer equipment

Must have experience with computer hardware installation and troubleshooting for PCs, peripherals, and serversExperience with mobile technology such as smartphones and tablets a plusStrong working knowledge of Android, Windows 7, and Windows 10Knowledge of Virtual Operating SystemsProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Network / Client-Server experience preferredSome experience with configuring routers, switches and hubs preferredAny computer equipment manufacturer certifications are a plusA+, Network+, Security+ certification are a plusExperience with various printer types (impact, inkjet, or laser)Willingness to learnPunctuality, reliability, honesty and consistencyAbility to work effectively in a team environment and interact with many departments on all levelsStrong attention to detail and accuracyStrong analytical skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and produce quality workGood customer service skillsGood organizational skillsGood task management skillsComplete tasks as efficiently as possibleAbility to work under pressure of deadlinesAbility to manage multiple assignments and adjust to changing prioritiesKeep work areas clean and organizedAbility to follow detailed written instructionsFollow company established policies regarding the safekeeping and security of equipment under repairYou must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.Must be available to work Monday through Friday and rotating weekend/on-call schedule.Provide numbers (i.e. home phone / cell phone) for which you can be easily and quickly reachableMust carry a company provided cell phone during normal work hours.Must have a reliable personal vehicle to use while performing job duties.
