About the RoleYou will report to a HW Technical Program Management lead and will interface with product, hardware, software, operation, testing and supplier. This role is a hybrid role and requires being on site at our SF office 2 days per week. In this role you will help build the next generation of robotic systems within DoorDash Labs from the ground up! We’re a team of people who live and breathe building robots and complex electromechanical systems. We’re unfazed by challenges or new problems and strive to build world-class solutions.

Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture new autonomous delivery robots

Lead internal multi-functional development teams and drive issue resolution for R&D project and/or various HW sub-system development, like drive train, sensor, compute, battery, ID, or sub-control systems

Manage external key module or component supplier for engineer development and parts delivery to meet development schedule

Work with system TPM to ensure R&D, module and component development and delivery meets overall product schedule

Present and communicate module development and R&D project status to the program or executive team

We're excited about you because you have…

Minimum 5 years of industry experience

Bachelor or above degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or related technical field

Proven record of delivering hardware product or modules from concept to high volume manufacturing

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Understanding of hardware product development cycle

Preferred strong technical background in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
