Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will play a crucial role in managing the organization's tax operations. This will include managing and mentoring a team of accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
- Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities, liaising with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, advising senior management on the tax implications of business decisions.
- Review and approve tax-related journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of tax-related financial reporting.
- Mentor and guide junior tax accountants, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development within the tax department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, incorporating tax considerations as appropriate.
- Evaluate current tax processes and controls, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns, and managing tax audits.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax information and make informed decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency in tax software Lacerte and Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical business practices.
