Position SummaryThe Department of Emergency Medicine, in the UNM School of Medicine is seeking a professional, detail-oriented SchedulingCoordinator who enjoys a fast-paced challenging work environment. The selected candidate will work in a complex, multi-faceted department that includes the administrative and academic offices for Emergency Medicine, the Emergency Medical Services Academy, and the Center for Disaster Medicine.

The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for creating and maintaining an organizational clinical schedule for the Department of Emergency Medicine under the supervision of the Scheduling Manager. Must develop and maintain a keen understanding of the scheduling complexity and will communicate regularly with managers, clinical leaders, and clinical faculty.This person must have excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, work well both as team member and independently. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to address problems that are highly varied using innovative and creative techniques to resolve issues, and work effectively with multiple constituencies.See the Position Description for additional information.

Conditions of EmploymentAll regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED;at least 5 years ofexperience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with complex schedules a plus-Excellent verbal and written communication skills-Computer proficiency especially in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook-Demonstrated experience working in a detailed software system-Experience with data entry-Ability to function in a deadline driven environment
