Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, in the UNM School of Medicine is seeking a professional, detail-oriented scheduling coordinator who enjoys a fast-paced challenging work environment. The selected candidate will work in the Office of Education focusing on various aspects of residency scheduling to support residents in their pediatric training. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for creating and maintaining an organizational clinical and educational schedule for the residents of the Pediatric Residency Program. Candidate must develop and maintain a keen understanding of the scheduling complexity and will communicate regularly with chief residents, residents, program staff, and clinical faculty as appropriate. This person must have excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, be detail oriented, and work well both as a team member and independently. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, be facile with technology, and have the ability to address problems that are highly varied using innovative and creative techniques to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Scheduling/coordination of day-to-day residents schedules, making necessary adjustments throughout the yearPrinciple liaison and problem solver for all scheduling issuesCreation of annual block schedule for residents, including any away rotationsFacilitating scheduling of special seminars, training sessions, meetings and special projects throughout the yearMaintain records and run reports for schedule-related dataWrite, update, and maintain program policies and procedures as they pertain to schedulingSee the Position Description for additional information.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED;at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience working with complex schedules a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiency especially in MS Excel, Word, and OutlookDemonstrated experience working in a detailed software systemExperience with data entryExperience creating data reportsAbility to function in a deadline driven environment
