Job Title: RN Telemetry I Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 03:00 PM-11:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Telemetry certified Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret Telemetry strips Job Description: - Work in a 37-bed medical telemetry unit with patients possibly admitted from emergency services, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by physicians. - Manage cardiac patients, including those on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips. - Care for post-pacemaker and post-cardiac catheterization patients, with and without interventions; also manage NSTEMI patients.- Engage in floating to applicable units as needed.- Participate in a rotating shift schedule with potential changes between different hour shifts (e.g., 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a), though night positions do not rotate.- Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio on day and evening shifts of 1:4, with a maximum of 5; night shifts have a ratio of 1:5-6.- Work with a patient population primarily diagnosed with CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolus, pneumonia, ETOH issues, dementia with cardiac co-morbidities, and occasionally surgical patients.- Use EPIC for electronic medical record charting. Please ensure all necessary certifications and licenses are active and up to date.
