Job Title: RN Telemetry I Job Specialty: RN Telemetry I Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM, Nights & Every Other Weekend, 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Ability to read tele strips Job Description: - Work in a surgical stepdown unit consisting of one 15-bed unit and one 8-bed unit.- Floating between units is required.- Rotating shifts for day positions; no rotation required for night positions.- Telemetry monitoring by RN is mandatory, including the ability to read tele strips.- Management of procedures such as chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, and capnography.- Preferable skills include management of arterial lines and neo-synephrine.- Clinician to patient ratio ranges from 6-10 patients per PCA and 3-5 patients per RN; in stepdown units, the ratio is 2-3 patients per RN.- Care provided for patients post-surgery in the following areas: General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma.- Utilize EPIC as the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
