UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF MEDICINEDepartment of PathologyFull-time Faculty Position, CLIA Laboratory Director and Director of Clinical PathologyThe Department of Pathology, University of Maryland School of Medicine invites applicants for a full-time Clinical Pathology faculty position at the level of Associate Professor or Professor, to serve as CLIA Laboratory Director of the University of Maryland Medical Center Laboratories of Pathology and Director of Clinical Pathology. Board certification in Clinical Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required. The successful applicant will have several years of leadership experience directing a laboratory or laboratory section, outstanding organizational and leadership skills, and an expansive view of the role of clinical pathology in patient care and hospital stewardship. External grant-funded research is desirable but not required. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with academic rank and experience.

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) Laboratories of Pathology serve as the central reference lab for University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), processing 5 million tests per year in over 33,000 square feet of clinical laboratory space and 20,000 square feet of anatomic pathology space.
