Plastics Material Handler

A plastics material handler plays a vital role in the plastic manufacturing process by ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products. They are responsible for operating material handling equipment, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining a well-organized and safe warehouse or production area. The material handler collaborates with production personnel, warehouse staff, and supervisors to facilitate smooth material flow and support production schedules.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify the quantity and quality of incoming plastic materials, such as pellets, resins, additives, and colorants.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and transport materials within the facility.Prepare and package materials for production, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.Distribute materials to production lines or storage areas, following production schedules and material requirements.Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished products, and packaging supplies.Utilize inventory management systems or other tools to record material movements, transactions, and stock updates.Generate and maintain accurate material handling and inventory reports.Ensure proper documentation of material usage, scrap, or waste for tracking and analysis purposes.Follow established procedures for lot traceability, including labeling and identification of materials.Properly store and arrange materials, ensuring efficient space utilization and easy accessibility.Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience as a material handler in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in the plastics industry.Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.Knowledge of safety protocols and proper handling techniques for various types of materials.Familiarity with inventory management systems or software is advantageous.Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting material transactions.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Benefits/Compensation
